Where will you be painting this year?

We will be staying in an old Cretan village on the northwest coast of the island, walking through olive groves, wandering down to the coast or discovering other inspirational settings, brushes and easels in tow. Then back to the house or to a local taverna for some home-cooked Cretan food. Later relaxing in the evening over a glass of wine discussing the day’s activities and the wider world of art; or maybe just sitting on the balcony under the star-filled sky, savouring the honeysuckle and listening to the night.

Why don’t you join us?

Our main base of operations is “The House of Kerash Bey” (sleeps eight) originally built by descendents of Gramvousa pirates during the Turkish occupation of Crete and recently renovated for our purposes. It is situated in the quiet village of Drapanias, nestled on three sides by olive clad hills and looking out over the Bay of Kastelli.  Alternative accommodation is offered in a family run pension right on the beach. All meals, breakfast, light lunch and dinner are inclusive; all scheduled trips, workshops and seminars will be open to artists.

Guidance and encouragement will be given by your host Allan Curry MA (former tutor at many Fine Art colleges including Goldsmiths and Central St.Martins) with regular visits from Tiffany Reilly Crane, local resident artist.

Places are limited to a maximum of twelve per week so booking early is advised. British charter flights to Chania are mostly Tues-to-Tues, however line flights via Athens are available daily, so you can join us at any time and stay as long as you wish; but whenever you chose to join us you will be introduced to and welcomed by all.
